Ok... So here is the deal. [correct me where I'm wrong, trying to speak simple 
here]

You got a zfs raidz1 pool of x disks.                    [Let's assume 5 disks 
of 1Tera each]
The pool uses 1/x for parity.                              [That means 1/5 is 
reserved for parity]
So you actual storage is x-1.                              [So that's [5-1] * 
1Tera = 4Tera]

And you remove one of the drives.
The pool is still functional.
All the data is there. Right? Right.

You're left with x-1 disks but no parity. Right?    

Assuming your free space on the pool is more than 1/[x-1]         [1/4 for our 
example]

wouldn't it be very nice to ask zfs to recalculate it's parity and resilver all 
the drives to the new state?

Is that posible?
