Hi, I ordered a Sun Ultra 24 workstation through the 60 day trial & buy process. It came pre-installed with Solaris 10. It is a superb machine and I was impressed how silent this machine is when I started it for the first time.
After a couple of days I installed OpenSolaris 2008.11 in order to improve the desktop usability (I am new to Unix) and I really felt in love with OpenSolaris. Unfortunately the Ultra 24 is no longer as silent as it was when runnning Solaris 10. The fans are much louder now.
