There is an open defect #6050 that looks a bit similar:

Is it possible to open a terminal window when the installer
is at 99% ? In the terminal window run the "ptree" command.
What subprocesses have been started by the "gui-install" process?

And check the end of the /tmp/install_log file; what
post installation step is it currently runnnig?
