Does your drive show up when your run?: 

iostat -En 

if it does you can put zfs on it for example:

zpool create [poolname] [devicename]

zfs create [poolname]/[fs]

this is how I use mine, I tried with fat32 and it worked but the 4gb
file size limit was not working out for me, and NTFS support in solaris
was something that does not work out of the box and have no clue how
reliable it is...
