Various applications cause beeps and I really really hate it. I can disable it
manually with "xset -b" (or "xset b off") but I have not found any way to run
this command automatically every time I log in.

I tried these suggestions but was unsuccessful:

I found that adding "xset -b" to the GNOME startup programs does run the
command but something that runs after that reverses the effect and sets the
bell percent back to 50. It would be even better if I could do it for all users.

Please help.

P.S. on Linux I was able to "blacklist" the "pcspkr" kernel module to
permanently disable the beep
