So my transition from Ubuntu to Open Solaris is almost 100% complete and I am
very happy I switched.
This what you want isn't it?
Long time Linux users switching over?

Anyway, I could cop out completely and just use Nexenta, but that strikes as
somewhat anathema and un-holy...

I have one major application I need to get working under 64-bit Open Solaris.

SqueezeCenter.

Does any Perl Open Solaris expert have time to go through the installation
steps on this wiki and see if they actually work?
It's a tad involved and not a trivial task by any means...

I get stuck with the CPAN install of DBD::mysql which fails with errors
compiling.

This seems odd because I followed everything else to the letter.

Does anyone have time to walk me though this install or at least try it and see
where it doesn't work?

A proper package for Open Solaris is what it really needs, but that's outsde
the scoe of my current knowledge or talents.

Cheers
