You should submit a RFE GeForce FX 5200  or post your /etc/X11/xorg.conf  ; 
prtdiag -v ; /usr/X11/bin/scanpci and /var/log/Xorg.0.log  so the gnome 
screen-resolution does not maintain the resulution it under GUI control.
