Don't panic :-)

It's actually ZFS. It takes up pretty much all unused RAM by default (you can 
tell it to use less, but thats not default). It's by design.

It's not an issue because -
1. Unused RAM is wasted RAM, ZFS puts it to good use.
2. It frees up RAM when some application needs it. So it is seemless.

PS: I have 4 gigs, zfs takes it all. The big iron with RAM in 2/3 digit gigs, 
ZFS takes it (almost) all :-p
