Group,

I've been attempting to install OS2008.05 on a Dell Poweredge 2650.

I checked the HCL and saw the 2600 as a supported platform. The difference
between the 2600 and 2650 was its physical configuration (tower/2U rack).

To note: I was able to install Opensolaris 2008.05 on a Dell Poweredge 850
(which isn't found on the HCL of OS2008.05).

Searching Google I have read people successfully install on a PE2650. Also
checking the HCL of Solaris 10, it reports no installation problems on that
server platform either.

My problem is simple yet complex: I have searched the last three months of the
list archives and google for the error messages found below but have not
gotten any luck.

Hardware:
Dell Poweredge 260
2 x Single Core Xeon 2.8GHZ @ 533mhz FSB
5 x 143GB U320 15k RPM in Hardware Raid 5
1.5 GB ECC RAM
DRAC
DVD/CDR

Boot the CD, starts to decompress the kernel with the nifty blue image.

This is my second attempt at installing Opensolaris so I'm not familiar with
the CLI binaries. However, I can only assume that something regarding the IDE
device (which is the CDROM drive) isn't all too happy.

Bios settings have been changed to make probing of devices simpler. Turned off
all USB/PCI/and integrated network cards. I have replaced the CD-Rom drive of
the server and continue to receive these message.

Any ideas??
