Is this for OpenSolaris 2008.05? If so, you can disable the GUI after installation by running the following command:
svcadm disable gdm It can be re-enabled using: svcadm enable gdm Unfortunately the OpenSolaris 2008.05 installer does not offer the option of selecting which software is installed - it just installs everything from the CD. You can remove the GUI after installation using the pkg command. Before you do that, you will need to use either the pkg command, or the "Package Manager" GUI tool on the System -> Administration menu to determine which packages to remove. Cheers Andrew.
