OK, found it as c7t0d0 and have used fdisk -B to sort out the fdisk label, then prtvtoc and fmthard to make the two solaris disk labels the same, however now zpool reports:
mjch at mawrth:/dev/dsk# zpool add rpool c7t0d0s0 invalid vdev specification use '-f' to override the following errors: /dev/dsk/c7t0d0s0 overlaps with /dev/dsk/c7t0d0s2 ... which is quite accurate, as s0 is one cylinder shorter than s2, however I don't see why that is relevant - this is the point of s2 after all ... -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
