Hi Guys,

I need to get two HP proliant boxes set up as synchronous replicas of each
other. I have Solaris 10 U8 installed on both of them. My questions are as
follows:

1. Can I install the AVS packages from opensolaris on solaris ? are the two OS
package compatible ? what are the gotcha's ?
2. If I need to compile AVS myself, is it ok to do it on opensolaris and should
I be using Sun CC or GCC, and are there any serious incompatibilities between
the images created by both compilers ? (i.e., dtrace works on GCC created code
?)
3. I am not opposed to installing opensolaris my question is: is opensolaris
production stable ? Or, how production stable is it ?
4. the Opensolaris install method is different to what is possible with
Solaris. Getting the Proliant drivers bootstrapped is a nightmare. Is this
going to change in future installers ?
