I've installed OpenSolaris 2009.06 and I'm having trouble doing updates and
installing packages. It will show updates are available, when I attempt to do
the updates i get the following error "Could not retrieve filelist from
'http://pkg.opensolaris.org/release";. If I try to install a package I get the
following error "Transfer from 'http://pkg.opensolaris.org/release"; timed out:
timed out. It also says, "Please check your network connection. Is the
repository accessible.

I can browse "'http://pkg.opensolaris.org/release"; from the browser and search
for packages. I suspect it has something to do with installing the smb packages
to get CIFS access from windows client. I say this because I'm able to install
those packages, then after I can't install anything. Also, other than the
default installation it's the only other thing I've install or configured on
the machine. I also suspect it may have something to do with after configuring
to join a workgroup.

The machine gets a static ip from the router, so it's technically on DHCP. Even
if I configure the router to not give it a dynamic ip, I still have issues. I
also notice when I boot up, I get a message similar to "Nov 19 18:38:17 Bruno
smbd[388]: [ID 413393 daemon.error] dyndns: failed to get domainname".

I don't know what else to try. I would appreciate help from someone who
resolved a similar issue or someone who knows the solution to this.

I've re-installed a few times and the same issue and it seems to be after
installing SUNWsmbs and SUNWsmbskr.
