Hi Nahida, For running .exe applications, you best bet would be to run Windows in VirtualBox <http://www.virtualbox.org/>. Alternatively, you could try Wine <http://hub.opensolaris.org/bin/view/Community+Group+desktop/wine>, a compatibility layer for running Windows applications on top of Unix.
If you're looking to connect OpenSolaris servers to share files, check out NFS which is covered in Chapter 10 of the Bible. For fail-over, you want Open HA Cluster, which is discussed in Chapter 16.
