Thunderbird 3 will only work with Lightning 1.0.    So if you have an 
earlier version of the Lightning extension, it will get disabled each 
time your start Thunderbird.   I am not sure what version of Thunderbird 
ships with build 130.

I have not had a problem with my ~/.thunderbird files when migrating 
back and forwards from Thunderbird 2 to Thunderbird 3

Check your Thunderbird and Lightning versions.
