Hi all. This is my first post here. Never had serious problems with OpenSolaris before :). The problem: i cannot install OpenSolaris on a new laptop [ Fujitsu Esprimo Mobile v6555]. On the SATA internal hdd there are two NTFS windows 7 primary partiton i want to preserve.
More Details: - Booted up with the LiveCD ( tried v131>from genuix, v122>from genuix, and 2009.06 ) - After the bootstrap i can see always the following warning: [code] opensolaris gda: [ID 107833 kern.notice] Sense Key: ID not found Vendor 'Gen-ATA ' error code: 0x5 WARNING: /pci at 0,0/pci-ide at b/ide at 0/cmdk at 0,0 (Disk0): Error for command 'read sector' Error Level: Fatal Requested Block 0, Error Block: 0 Sense Key: ID not found opensolaris gda: [ID 107833 kern.notice] [/code] There are a lot of this specific warning but after a while the shell prompts for keyboard layout and the boot process goes on. The the X server starts i check the driver with the tool. There are no problems and all devices have the coorect driver installed. I have attached the screenshot for drivers report. When i opens the installation tool it can't read my partition table and prompts me to use the whole hdd for OS installation. I've tried also to partion the hdd with fdisk in the following way: - NTFS 100mb primary - Linux Swap 30GB primary (where to install OS) - NTFS 60GB primary W7 - Linux extended partition for other *nix distros. The result: the installation tool does not see any difference and always see the hdd like it's empty I've attached the screenshot. Is there somebody here that can help me? It look like a hhd/storage controller problem, but i know other users with nforce 730i chipset that have NO problems. I've attached the detailed hardware configuration of my laptop.
