Incidentally, as of this afternoon, if I came into that same page
from www.sun.com (instead of from www.opensolaris.com), having asked
for the master download title list, selecting Solaris Express and
authenticating as usual, I was presented with `b17' ISOs. Apparently
b18 ISOs show only if you come in from the OSol page, and I can't
account for how I have the "b20" ISOs in my hand!
At least that part is normal. The Community Release on
opensolaris.org has always been 2-3 releases ahead of the Solaris
Express release on sun.com. That doesn't explain why the Community
Release went backwards though.
There are two 'versions' of Solaris Express, the Community Release and
the 'regular' version. The Community Release, as James mentioned, is 2-3
releases ahead of the regular version and has not had as much testing.
The Community Release should coincide with the release of the source,
but the schedules are not always in sync, so sometimes the CR will be
available before the matching source is ready. We'll try and make things
clearer as we go forward.
