This is an area that I need to learn, but I feel that explicit instructions are
really needed. Here is the situation...

I've got appliances that I want to bang out clones. This appliance only has
ethernet and USB ports. I tried an external USB DVD drive to install Solaris
but the BIOS refused. I ended up opening up the case and putting the DVD drive
directly on the IDE bus to install Solaris. The only addition it needed was
the vfe (rh) ethernet driver and it worked flawlessly.

Here's the problem... I have no idea on how to do this other than pulling the
drives out and using something like dd and then modifying things like the
hostname, etc.

I don't want to go through this on every unit. What I'd like to do is clone
drives from a working image using a USB flash, PXE boot, or something similar.

So, if someone has a pointer to instructions for the novice in this area, I'd
really appreciate it. Thanks!

Gary
