Hi there. I'm coming from a linux/bsd background and would love to install solaris (express) on a remote server after some evaluations on a local machine. Unfortunately it seems as if I need to install either by - booting from a full CD image into a jumpstart installation or - installing from all 4 CDs
The latter just isn't practicable, since the machine sits in a remote datacenter and I won't upload 4 complete CD images to the remote management card's virtual CD drive. The first still is evil, since I'd like to see a way to literally jumpstart the installation without lots of uploading. I could install linux or *bsd from a minimal (read: reasonable small, down to 50-60M for some systems/distributions) image. Is there any (community?) effort to provide a solution for this bandwidth problem of mine? Thanks in advance, Ben This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ opensolaris-help mailing list [email protected]
