Hi,
I have installed Gigabyte GN-WIAG01 (Atheros AR5004G) miniPCI wlan card on my
Acer TravelMate 250. I am running Solaris 10 and ath 0.5 driver.
I can plumb the interface but cannot connect to my wep or encryption-less AP. I
have opensuse on the other partition and was not able to connect using madwifi
in the beginning. The I found at the madwifi troubleshooting page that this
could be because of the RF switch (to power on and off the miniPCI card) the
laptop comes with. There is no driver to control the switch and so the
workaround is to either load madwifi with parameter "rfkill=0" or cover the pin
13 of the card. I loaded the madwifi with rfkill=0 and now wlan works on
opensuse.
I have a feeling that its the same issue with solaris. So, is there any
parameter or command to work around the RF switch issue?
