Greetings, Finally! I got a version of OpenSolaris (NV56) to run on my Tyan/dual Opteron machine! I used the CD images rather than the DVD images as was suggested by a colleague in Chicago. Apparently he had similar issues as I did and that resolved his problem. Makes no sense to me but I'll investigate once I get everything configured and running. I LOVE the new desktop!
Anyway, I'm writing tonight about ipfilter. my old ipf ipnat pfil/autopush stuff no longer works because it seems that pfil/pfild doesn't exist. I did a little searching through the archives, mailing lists etc and haven't turned up anything other than indications that people are building this stuff from source code. Is that what I need to do or is there some other mechanism in place? The man pages still refer to pfil. What's everyone doing with this? Thanks in advance for any tips and hints, and thanks in retrospect for all of your previous assistance with getting ON to run on this thing. Guess I won't be porting to FreeBSD after all!
