I don't think that the manufacturer would modify my motherboard or replace it 
with another one to allow me to run Solaris <g>. I will try installing the 
latest Debian to see if this motherboard is not compatible with all non-Windows 
systems.
The motherboard model is Gigabyte P35-DS3.
The only thng that is not clear enough to me is that the conflict happens only 
after I install the NVIDIA driver for my video card. Does this mean that when 
the driver is not installed and I'm working in onsole mode, the display 
controller doesn't use IRQ at all? Why the network and display controllers 
start to conflict only after I install the driver for the latter?
