Hello, first of all, I am a total newbie with solaris, I am usually a
windows-user. So some of the words I use is probably wrong, and my knowlengde
is very limitid, However, here is my problem:

I have a triple boot with 4 partitions, Linux, Linux Swap, Windows, and
Solaris, even though I have free space. If I try to create another partition
with fdsik I get the message that I have to delete a partition first. It is my
understanding that one can only have one solaris partition, so thats ok.
However it should be possible to create som slices inside the existing partion.
I want to create about 10 slices to experminet a bit with ZFS. Here is the info
i get up:

Partition Status Type Start End Length %
1 IFS: NTFS 0 2676 2677 18
2 Solaris 6501 6998 498 3
3 Linux Native 2677 6500 3824 26
4 Active Solaris2 6999 9915 2917 20

And the slices:

Total disk cylinders available 496+2

Part Tag Flag Cylinders Size
0 root wm 265-1309 8.01GB
1 swap wu 3-264 2.01GB
2 backup wn 0-2914 22.33GB
3 unassigned wm 0 0
4 unassigned wm 1310-1440 1.00GB
5 unassigned wm 0 0
6 unassigned wm 0 0
7 home wm 2355-2914 4.29GB
8 boot wu 0-0 7.84MB
9 alternates wu 1-2 15.69MB

Slice number 4 is ok, and i can resize it if its already an existing slice, but
I cannot use the free cylinders to create a slice number 2, 5, or 6. THat is,
if I try to create one I get the message "1441 is out of range" (if i try to
start the slice on cylinder 1441.). It only works if I have the slice before
cylinder 495. As you can see, it says "total cylinders avalable 496", howver
the partition seems to in reality have 2915 cylinders. Is there a way I can fix
this?

Hopefully I was able to explain my problem in an understandable way. Thanks in
advance for any help.
