Just installed Solaris Express Community Edition ( sol-nv-b87-x86-dvd.iso ) on
a HP desktop (Nvidia FX 5200) and I was happily surprised to see that Compiz
was working right after the installation without any juggling (and it was
installed by default). Now I don't know if SXCE always had Compiz + Nvidia
support built-in or not... ( I have installed S10 and SXDE many times but don't
recall seeing Compiz in either one)

Since I've played around with quite a few Linux distros very recently, I was
almost shocked to see Compiz effects working "right out of the box" in Solaris.
The only little thing I changed was "Visual Effects": from None to Custom under
"Preferences > Appearance " and voila.

When I looked in "System Tools > NVIDIA X Server Settings", the latest 169.12
drivers were installed already.

Haven't used SXCE much but with a new Firefox 3 and VLC Player (would love to
see VLC as a default multimedia player), I guess I can make Solaris my default
desktop.
