I have a similar problem after I installed package SUNWtoo to fix a problem
with the previous package SUNWgcc.

I tried the instructions above, booted up from the opensolaris install disk, as
there is no failsafe option with grub and couldn’t get single user mode working
either – ie its an intel core 2 not an AMD64.

The “pkg image-update” first said permission denied, login as su, password
“opensolaris”, it completed but gave me a different results then stated here.
Didn’t get a clone version of file system

Couldn’t get the CD install OS to mount local disk. It wanted “zfs set
mountpoint=/mnt rpool/ROOT/opensolaris”, but didn't work.

Update Grub didn’t work, as filesystem not mounted.

Please help – I don’t want to have to reinstall and reupdate gcc just to be
able to be login to update grub,

Dallas.
