I just installed OpenSolaris 2008.05 as a VirtualBox guest under Ubuntu Hardy. Installed and booted fine. I'd read the release notes and saw "Important Package Update Instructions for All Users". The Image Packing System is broken. On initial boot, one must open a terminal and do this:
$ pfexec pkg refresh $ pfexec pkg install [EMAIL PROTECTED] $ pfexec pkg install [EMAIL PROTECTED] $ pfexec pkg install SUNWipkg-gui But when I do that, as root:- bash-3.2# pfexec pkg refresh pkg: Command not found bash-3.2# bash-3.2# man pkg No manual entry for pkg. bash-3.2# So I need to install pkg first. Somehow the release notes don't cover that. I've got pkgadd, so I could do it, but where do I go for the package that contains pkg? -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ opensolaris-help mailing list [email protected]
