Thank you for trying to help, but i don't actually have sound problems, the sound was broken on the motherboard before i got it so that's why i sent it back figuring a sata port was also broken. The new motherboard works fine other then that same port failing if there are IDE/PATA CD ROM attached or the system crashing if the system drive is attached to the jmicron PATA.
i have tried everything from turning devices to IDE only, AHCI, RAID, nothing fixes the issue i just cannot run a disk attached to the IDE/PATA port. But I am ok with this however my PC hangs at post when a Open Solaris system disk is attached to USB but works fine with a Windows disk.... this makes little sense to me and this would be the best option for me at the moment but i cant get it to work. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ opensolaris-help mailing list opensolaris-help@opensolaris.org
