I tried doing what I wanted to do with x forwarding and played a bit with xauth.
the merge went fine. but when I ran xauth on opensolaris it was using a
different file.
one that was in /tmp. the merge did something to a file in the users home
directory.
If I can remotely ( cli ) set up screen sharing that would also be good. this
box is headless.
