Hmm, and there really is no problem on host 192.168.0.2,
trying to translate the ip address of the debian linux
client machine named "michelle" to a host name?

Is there an entry for host "michelle" in the /etc/inet/hosts
file on host 192.168.0.2?

Do you have "files" before "dns" in /etc/nsswitch.conf 
on host 192.168.0.2?
