Hi.
I have 3 machines which contain ATI graphics cards - a Radeon 9800, a HD3600
and a HD3870. OpenSolaris b134 is installed on the first of these. On all of
them, whether I boot from the installed OS or from the LiveCD, trying to change
the display appearance (via System -> Preferences -> Appearance and trying to
switch from 'None' to 'Normal') results in the same behaviour - a delay, a
completely blank white screen and eventually a return to the Visual Effects tab
with nothing changed.
By contrast, an Ubuntu LiveCD, using the same sequence, works fine on all 3;
Visual Effects are set to Normal and the display looks much smoother.
Can anyone suggest which log(s) I should be checking? or any other action which
would fix the problem?
