I have experienced quite the same issue on my Dell R610, which has been running each version of OpenSolaris since 2009.06.
We are using it for running a Netatalk and what happens is, that after some unspecified amount of time, I am not able to log into the system either via ssh or console anylonger. Interestingly, Netatalk remains functional the whole time, but administering is of course impossible when OSo get's in that state. Our R610 usually gets into this state every two weeks.
