I have a system that is up and running on the 06-2009 release of
OpenSolaris (svn_111b). I changed the package manager to point to the
dev repository and did an update to try and bring my system up to
svn_134, but I am unable to boot into the new image. When I select the
new image from the grub menu the OpenSolaris loading screen comes up
briefly then the screen goes black and some text flash too quickly for
my to read before the system reboots. I tried to download an install CD
for svn_134, but booting off the CD gives me the same behavior as
booting into the new image. I tried to turn off graphic boot mode
(removed the splashimage, foreground and background lines from the entry
in grub and took console=graphics off the kernel line) and turned on the
verbose options (added -kv -m verbose to the kernel line) but the text
is only on screen for a fraction of a second, so I still have no idea
what's wrong. Has anyone seen this before or have any clue as to what I
could do to fix it or even at least prevent the reboot so I can read the
output?
