I tried to install SVN and witnessed something slightly disturbing: $ sudo pkg install developer/versioning/subversion DOWNLOAD PKGS FILES XFER (MB) web/browser/firefox 37/38 6715/8829 56.8/62.6
I intend to run SVN on a lightweight zone. So I go ahead and try to fetch it from the ipkg repository, figuring it's a lot more convenient and better than building it from source Then, it wants me to install several, to be quite honest -useless- utilities and programs that have nothing to do with subversion. The worst example was firefox. What on earth would I need firefox for, just to install subversion? Surely there must be a way to circumvent some of these ridiculous dependencies? E.g. something like NO_X11 setting in FreeBSD's ports and binary package collection. Thanks :-) Torbjorn
