            Bug ID: 3389
Summary: ssh/sshd: print warning if Include doesn't match a
                    non-wildcard pattern
           Product: Portable OpenSSH
           Version: 8.8p1
          Hardware: Other
                OS: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: P5
         Component: Miscellaneous
          Assignee: unassigned-b...@mindrot.org
          Reporter: cales...@scientia.org

Hey.

I think it might be reasonable to print a warning for every
non-existant/non-readable/etc. file that is Include(d) when ssh/sshd is
started.

This should typically only happen for non-wildcard files/patterns, and
for them I think it makes sense, as the user intentionally wanted a
specific filename to be included.

Should you consider my issue #3388 for implementation, I'd suggest that
such warnings are only printed for sshd, not for ssh, because if
someone really wanted a file then, IncludeMandatory could be used...
and otherwise the warnings would perhaps be a bit annoying for the
client.

Thanks,
Chris.
