Further summary of test results for FreeBSD 4.1 (FreeBSD-elf):

OpenSSL 0.9.6a beta1 succeeds in make and openssl speed test, if -DSO_DLFCN
-DHAVE_DFLCN_H are passed to config. make test mostly succeeds, but gives
an illegal character error at bc. Snapshot from 03/20/2001 behaves the same
as beta1. Snapshots from 03/21 and 03/22 do not require any options to be
added to config, succeed in building and in openssl speed test, and make
test mostly succeeds, with the exception of the illegal character error at
bc. OpenSSL 0.9.6a beta2 fails to build with the error I previously gave.
So, it looks as if whatever broke beta2 on FreeBSD 4.1 was introduced late.
dsa_gen.c itself is identical between beta1 and beta2, so the source of the
error must be elsewhere.

At this point, I'm discontinuing my FreeBSD testing for now.
