Just a wild opinion. IMHO as long as backward *binary* compatibility is
not guaranteed (i.e. as long as you have to recompile even application
because of data structures changes) shared libraries don't serve any
reasonable purpose. Indeed! How many OpenSSL applications do you
normally run per host? Another thing is that it usually costs you one
register. On Intel it's one of *6*!

I'm not trying to start a flamewar here! It's nothing, but a wild
opinion...
