A couple of weeks ago I asked about scripting languages that could be
used, e.g., to automate Registration Authority services. Here's
the promised summary, with thanks to:

Marc-Andre is considering x.509 support routines for his mxCrypto package.
There have been postings about the "Python CA" at

I found out one company is thinking about it, but don't have any
public information on it. I also got references to "Netscape has
something" and "there's some TCL code bolted to TCL floating around
the net." Trivial quick searches of mine turned up nothing; if I
pursue and find things I'll post info.

I recieved a pointer to the free Cryptix ASN.1 kit

Look in the Products section.

Mordy pointed me to SWIG. It's an impressive tool that parses C/C++
and generates glue code for Python, Perl, etc.

He is trying to make his interface file (think .h file :) available.

Hope this helps.
