Dear Mr/Madam,

I try to install Apache-ssl for my project. But I fail to install it in the
procedure of make install. I am not a superuser so that I install it in
the directory /home/cs-pg/h/lc18/web/server/apache_1.3.6/openssl-0.9.3a.
The error in the procedure and the result of running ./config -t are the
following.

making all in apps...
making all in test...
making all in tools...
cp: e_os.h and
/home/cs-pg/h/lc18/web/server/apache_1.3.6/openssl-0.9.3a/include/openssl/e_os.h are
identical

The files used to install are as follows.

apache_1.3.6+ssl_1.35.tar
apache_1.3.6-sun4c-sun-solaris2.270.tar
openssl-0.9.3a.tar

The installation procedures I did are the following.

1) unpack apache_1.3.6-sun4c-sun-solaris2.270.tar in the server directory.
2) unpack apache_1.3.6+ssl_1.35.tar and openssl-0.9.3a.tar in the
apache_1.3.6 directory.
3) run ./config --openssldir=/home/cs-pg/h/lc18/web/server/apache_1.3.6/openssl-0.9.3a
4) make (successful)
5) make test (successful)
6) make install (fail here)

The following steps I will continue in Apache installation are:

7) ./configure --prefix=/home/cs-pg/h/lc18/web/server/apache_1.3.6
8) make
9) make install

Can you please tell how to fix it and the steps I take is correct or not.
Do I still use the port number for https?

Thank you very much.

I am looking forwards to hearing from you.

With my best regards.

Le Chen
