Check out http://uw7doc.sco.com/cgi-bin/man/man?uname+1, which states
that -X is a *undocumented* legacy option. According to the page 'uname
-mrsv' are all working and e.g. 'uname -sr' returns "UnixWare 5". It
also lists return values from 'uname -s' on elder SCO products. And
according to http://osr5doc.sco.com:1996/cgi-bin/man/man?uname+C 'uname
-mrsv' works fine SCO OpenServer 5.0.4... Why did 'uname -X' appear in
first place? I think we should get rid of 'uname -X' in the beginning
and consider moving it to the 'case "$GUESSOS" in' section where it
(presumably) belongs. I.e. if it *actually* needed.
Andy.
P.S. Wow! They offer free licenses for UnixWare 7.
