Hello!

Although I'm not subscribed to these lists, I'm sending this message to get
some help. For nearly a month, I have this error message and I don't know
the cause and the solution. I will be very happy with any response. Let me
describe the situation:

I configured Samba with SSL support, created my own CA certificate. After
that, I created a client certificate for a machine in the same network.

When I run the script ./smbclient //le01/tmp, I have the following output:

added interface ip=53.141.196.100 bcast=53.141.196.127 nmask=255.255.255.224
SSL: Cert error: unknown error 18 in /C=DE/ST=b/L=f/O=ND/OU=Satcom/CN=Selma
SSL:negotiated cipher: DES-CBC3-SHA
Password:
Domain=[WORKGROUP] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 2.0.7]
smb:\>

Despite of the error message, as you see I can connect to the SMB server and
use them. However, when I try it from the client machine which I have a
certificate, I get the following:

Got a positive name query response from 53.141.196.100
session request to le01 failed (code 142)
Got a positive name query response from 53.141.196.100
session request to * SMBSERVER failed (code 142)

I can't connect to the Samba server.

Any advice?

Selma Tekir
