Segmentation fault.

Hi all,
I am writing a program that generates RSA keys;when I use just 
RSA_generate_KEY() everything works but when I also use RAND_seed() to 
seed the PRNG state the system (Linux 2.2.14 on Pentium III) tells me : 
Segmentation fault.

I don' t know how to handle it : anybody can help ?
