The "Configure" file (and/or whatever tickles it) should be changed:

I see no reason why "VC-NT" and "VC-WIN32" configurations should differ from
"VC-WIN16", "VC-W31-16", "VC-W31-32", or "VC-MSDOS" configurations, or even
"BC-32" or "BC-16" in this respect.
