its simpler than that ....

simply changing (in util/pod2mantest)

IFS=:
try_without_dir=true

to
IFS=:
try_without_dir=false

seems to do the trick .....

am i breaking anything else here?

i can only find instances of try_without_dir in

[root@server]grep -rln try_without_dir .
./test/bctest
./util/pod2mantest
[root@server]

so do we care here?
