Thanks for your earlier response. I have one last question. I have an application that requires me to install OpenSSL V0.9.1C or higher. I'm currently using Red hat 7.3, which comes preinstalled with a limited version of OpenSSL. Are these two products the same thing? Or will I need to install another version of OpenSSL besides the one that is preinstalled?
Any help you can give me with this would be appreciated. I suppose with Linux 7.3 you mean the "Redhat 7.3" incarnation!? ... > ciphers.o nseq.o pkcs12.o pkcs8.o spkac.o smime.o > rand.o -L.. -lssl -L.. -lcrypto -ldl > collect2: ld terminated with signal 11 [Segmentation fault], core > dumped Some Redhat versions were delivered with a gcc 2.96 that is to be considered to be of "experimental" quality. Please use a gcc of the 2.95.x stable version or a later 3.0.x version. In any case it is a problem with your gcc version or binutils (ld, collect2) version.
