Of course you already *have* implemented this as #if<_foo>#else<foo>#endif
rather than #if<_foo>#endif<foo> - forgive the oversight/hallucinations, it will
teach me to look at too many things at once. Hopefully the rest of my
feedback is still valid though ...? :-)
