Hi,

to my former mail (sent to you few hours ago) with text:

"""
I was unable to pass the "make test" command when building openssl 0.9.8. I
tried it first with some optimization flags (-O3 -march=pentium4
-mtune=pentium4) with gcc 3.4.1, again without them and at last with default
flags as they are in Makefile and gcc 2.96 and it always ended the same way:

...
test BN_rshift1
test BN_rshift
test BN_sqr
make[2]: *** [test_bn] Error 139
make[2]: Leaving directory `/tmp/vivi/openssl-0.9.8/openssl-0.9.8/test'
make[1]: *** [tests] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/tmp/vivi/openssl-0.9.8/openssl-0.9.8'

I attach the testlog file made with "make report" after the last try.

I use RedHat Linux 7.3 with kernel 2.4.20-28.7.
"""

I can add now that it only happens when "shared" option is passed to ./configure
command; without that option "make test" passes OK. Unfortunately, I need shared
libraries.
