It's a data format, which can be written out in a couple of ways (DER, 
PEM, etc).

The format allows for a password, but it can be empty.  I don't know what 
"the certificate store" is -- a java keystore, a Window cert store, etc? 
But that doesn't matter -- whether or not they are in the store depends on 
whether or not you 'uploaded' (more correctly, imported) the data.
