I saw you are the supporter for openssl package.
I guess you should be acquainted with the problem and know whom to talk
to.
I have noticed a problem in which I followed manual, but resulting key
size was zero.
The command was:
% openssl pkcs12 -export -in usercert.pem -inkey userkey.pem -out user.p12
The result was silently put in user.p12 with length of 0 bytes.
The trick was my quota was overdue, but it took me considerable time to
realize this because no error message of unsuccessful write was given.

IMHO silently truncated output due to enforced quota is a bug according to
GNU standards, and that ought to be reported to developers, looking
forward to keep this progs better.
