As closing note. crypto/perlasm in HEAD branch contains complete 
solution to the originating problem. The HEAD version was verified to 
work as drop-in replacement even in in 0.9.8-stable context, so those 
who insist on omitting -Bsymbolic can copy perlasm from HEAD to address 
the problem. A.
