No.

$ in logical names and such are not recommended outside of
DEC/Compaq/HP, they have "reserved" that character for their own use
for ages.

Also, if we use the same and we ave a versioning conflict between the
products, there will be trouble.  And I really see no reason why two
products, even though one is based on the other, should compete over
logical names.
